Description
The “Mercedes-Benz Guides” app is the digital Owner’s Manual for your smartphone or tablet.
With the app, you can call up or download the online version of the Owner’s Manual for your vehicle so that you can access it even without an internet connection.
Depending on the vehicle model, information relevant to operation, images and animations relating to the vehicle’s equipment are included.
You can use the search function to find the content you are looking for. Bookmarks allow you to mark content. Main functions for vehicle are listed via the quick start. In the tips you will find information/guidance, e.g. help in the event of a breakdown. The animations section provides you with videos on main vehicle functions.
The online Owner’s Manual is the current version. Possible variations to your vehicle may not be taken into account as Mercedes-Benz constantly updates their vehicles and equipment to the state of the art and introduces changes in design and equipment. A guide describes all standard and optional equipment of the vehicle. Note, therefore, that your vehicle may not be fitted with all features described. This is also the case for systems and functions relevant to safety. Country-specific deviations are possible among the various languages.
Under no circumstances does this version of the Owner’s Manual replace the printed Owner’s Manual which was included when the vehicle was delivered.
Please contact your authorized Mercedes-Benz service partner if you would like to obtain a printed Owner’s Manual for particular vehicle models and vehicle model years.

Complicated and fussy way to look up how car features work
Following the purchase of my new car I was keen to read through the manual to find out how all the new technology in it worked, but reading about them through this app has been a difficult job.
To start it relies on search too much, which means you have to get the term and spelling exactly right to find anything. Beyond the quick-start section I’ve found no full contents to to be able to scan through.
Choosing the right manual is also not a simple task. I have an A-class ‘hatchback’ but only get to choose options between sedan and compact sedan, which don’t mean much to me in the UK. You then have to choose a time period which I’m guessing is referring to when the car was manufactured or perhaps when the car was first registered? Who knows!
Also the manual lacks detail on some of the higher specification features and any support in what to do if they’re not functioning properly. Online music is a perfect example.
Search broken
Search is completely broken and has not been tested even once before release. Searches for any term such as ‘fuse’ or ‘amps’ or ‘cruise’ return no documents.
Would also be nice to remember which vehicle I select rather than starting from scratch each time.
This app could be good if some basic QA were applied.
Failed to solve a problem that didn’t exist
Mercedes have tried to be too clever with this. It could have been great. Instead what you get is unwieldy and does not work properly.
This isn’t a manual as you’d understand it. You can’t flick through page by page. Instead you have to search for the keyword you’re looking for.
Which is ok. As long as you can think of the keyword they’ve used.
Take the new MBUX system. Maybe you just fancy reading about it and how it works.
Well you can’t.
You search for “entertainment” and “infotainment” and get no hits. Then google search, find “MBUX” and search for that. And get one short page on managing devices. Which isn’t what I wanted.
Please just add a downloadable pdf-type manual. Keep all the other stuff if you like. I won’t use it because it doesn’t work, but whatever. Just please add the pdf!
