WARNING Risk of injury from operating fluids harmful to your health

Operating fluids may be poisonous and harmful to your health.

Observe the text on the original containers when using, storing or disposing of operating fluids.
Always store operating fluids sealed in their original containers.
Always keep children away from operating fluids.
ENVIRONMENTAL NOTE Environmental pollution caused by environmentally irresponsible disposal
Dispose of operating fluids in an environmentally responsible manner.
Service products include the following:

  • fuels

  • exhaust gas aftertreatment additives, e.g. AdBlue®

  • lubricants

  • coolant

  • brake fluid

  • washer fluid

  • climate control system refrigerant

Only use products approved by Mercedes-Benz. Damage caused by the use of products that have not been approved is not covered by the Mercedes-Benz warranty or goodwill gestures.

You can identify service products approved by Mercedes-Benz by the following inscription on the containers:

  • MB-Freigabe  (e.g. MB-Freigabe 229.51)

  • MB-Approval  (e.g. MB-Approval 229.51)

Fuels are highly inflammable.

You must avoid fire, naked flames, creating sparks and smoking.
Before refuelling, switch off the engine and auxiliary heating if your vehicle is equipped with auxiliary heating.

Fuels are poisonous and harmful to your health

Do not swallow fuel or let it come into contact with skin, eyes or clothing.
Do not inhale fuel vapour.
Keep children away from fuel.

If you or other people come into contact with fuel, observe the following:

Immediately rinse fuel off your skin with soap and water.
If fuel comes into contact with your eyes, immediately rinse them thoroughly with clean water. Seek medical attention immediately.
If you swallow fuel, seek medical attention immediately. Do not induce vomiting.
Change immediately out of clothing that has come into contact with fuel.
