If the ECO start/stop function is switched on, the engine electronics will switch from eight-cylinder mode to four-cylinder mode, if necessary, if one of the following drive programs has been selected:
(Slippery)
(Comfort)
(Individual) – with the drive setting "Moderate" or "Reduced"
The multifunction display will show the 
symbol in the status area.
When the ECO start/stop function is switched off, the four-cylinder mode will be switched off automatically.
