Active Steering Assist
Active Steering Assist uses lane markings and vehicles driving in front for lateral guidance. It can follow them in the flow of traffic, even on multi-lane roads and when the lane markings are not clearly visible. Its functions also include Active Lane Change Assist. As soon as the driver initiates a lane change by using the turn signal indicator and the system does not detect another vehicle in the neighbouring lane, Active Lane Change Assist can support the driver in changing lanes using steering torque. Active Emergency Stop Assist comes into effect if the driver does not put their hands on the steering wheel after the intelligent hands-off warning system has repeatedly requested the driver to do so. It brakes the vehicle to a standstill in the lane if the system detects that the driver is permanently distracted or has lost control over the vehicle.
