Folding the rear seat backrest forwards
WARNING Risk of accident and injury if the rear bench seat/rear seat and seat backrest are not engaged

If the rear bench seat/rear seat and seat backrest are not engaged, they could fold forwards, e.g. during sudden braking or in the event of an accident.

  • If this were the case, the vehicle occupant would be forced into the seat belt by the rear bench seat/rear seat or by the seat backrest. The seat belt would not be able to provide the intended protection and could cause additional injury.

  • Objects or loads in the boot cannot be restrained by the seat backrest.

Make sure that the seat backrest and the rear bench seat/rear seat are engaged before every trip.
Push the head restraints all the way in.
Pull the right-hand or left-hand loop on the seat backrest in the direction of the arrow.
Fold the seat backrest down fully.

  • secure the load using tie-down eyes .

  • distribute the load on the tie-down eyes evenly.

  • do not use elastic straps or nets.

  • pad any sharp edges.

Please note
WARNING Risk of injury due to objects being stowed incorrectly

If you do not stow objects in the vehicle interior appropriately, they could slip or be flung around and hit vehicle occupants as a result. In addition, cup holders, open stowage spaces and mobile phone brackets cannot always retain all the objects they contain in the event of an accident.

There is a risk of injury, particularly in the event of braking or abrupt changes in direction.

Always stow objects in such a way that they cannot be flung around in these or similar situations.
Always make sure that objects do not protrude from stowage spaces or ruffled pockets.
Close all lockable stowage spaces before starting a journey.
Always stow and secure heavy, hard, pointed, sharp-edged or fragile objects or objects that are too large behind the last bench seat or under the passenger seats.
WARNING ‑ Risk of accident or injury when using the cup holder while the vehicle is in motion

The cup holder cannot hold a container secure while the vehicle is in motion.

If you use a cup holder while the vehicle is in motion, the container may be flung around and liquids could be spilled. The vehicle occupants may come into contact with the liquid and if it is hot, they could be scalded. You could be distracted from traffic conditions and you may lose control of the vehicle.

Only use the cup holder when the vehicle is stationary.
Only use the cup holder for containers of the right size.
Always close the container, particularly if the liquid is hot.
NOTE Damage to the vehicle interior due to overflowing drinks
Use the cup holder only for suitably sized sealable containers. Otherwise, drinks may spill.
